Utterance 213 — The King awakens

Awake! Stand up, O King. Lift up your head; loosen the bandages that have been laid upon you.
Awake, O King — your bones have been knit together for you; your flesh has been gathered to you. The earth has not eaten you. The night does not hold you. You are not laid bare.
Lift yourself up. Atum lifts you. Shu raises you up. Geb the earth-god kisses your feet. Nut takes you in her arms.
You are not dead. You have gone away alive — for you are weary in the limbs of Osiris, and Osiris is not dead.
Run, run, and the gods make a way for you. The two doors of the horizon are open. Ra goes forth before you.
O King, take to yourself your eye, the strong eye of Horus — that you may see by it. The gods bow their heads before you. They place their hands beneath you. They lift you up.
You are at the head of the imperishable ones. You will not perish. You will not pass away. Your name will live forever among the living.
