The Gospel of the Egyptians · Chapter 2

The descent of Seth and the holy seed

1The great Seth saw the corruption of the world. He saw the ignorance of the rulers of the world. He had compassion on the holy seed that was scattered in the world.

2He came down to deliver them. He clothed himself with the body of Yeshua, the Christ — the living one — that he might appear to those who were like him.

3He passed through the rulers in disguise. They did not know him. He came down to the world. He gathered the holy seed. He gave them the baptism of the spring of life — the baptism of fire, of water, and of the holy Spirit.

4And he gave them the five seals: the seal of the Father, the seal of the Mother, the seal of the Son, the seal of the Spirit, and the seal of the Light. Whoever receives the five seals will not taste death.

5And the holy generation sang the song of the great invisible Spirit. They sang: IO IEU EOOU, EAO ZAOZAOZ. The holy seed has been gathered. The work of Seth is fulfilled.

6This is the holy book of the great invisible Spirit. He who shall hear it, and shall keep it, and shall pass it on to his children — to that one belongs salvation, in the holy generation forever.
