The Second Treatise of the Great Seth · Chapter 2

The unity of the spiritual race

1Truly I say to you, the spiritual race that is from above is one, and one only. We are not from this world; we are from above.

2We are from the Father; we are spiritual; we are eternal. We have come down to the world for the sake of those who are like us, that we might gather them together, and bring them up to the height.

3We are brothers; we are sisters; we are one body. The body is one, and the head is one — the Christ. He is in us, and we are in him.

4Therefore the law of marriage they propose is laughable. The marriage that is in the world is a defilement. But the spiritual marriage — that of the Saviour with the soul — is the holy thing.

5They who hold to the law of the world live in a foreign place. They worship rulers. They do not know the Father. We know the Father, because we are children of the Father. We are at rest in the Father.

6Such is the testimony of the great Seth. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.
