This is the discourse that James the Just made in Jerusalem, which Mareim, one of the priests, wrote down. He said about James: I went to him at his appointed time when he was going to die.

And the people remained quiet, but he opened his mouth and said: I am a herald of you, the elect, who has known the truth that has been revealed and who has spoken to you everything that I learned from him.

I am the one to whom revelation was given by the Pleroma of imperishability, the first to be called by the One Who is great. He revealed himself to me as my brother and lifted me up to my right hand and embraced me as a beloved brother.

He said to me, My beloved, behold, I shall reveal to you those things which neither the heavens nor the archons have known. Behold, I shall reveal to you all things, my beloved. Believe in me, my beloved.

Although I am the son, I am from the unbegotten One who is the Father. He is the one who is the Father of the All; in him I had my origin and was begotten. I was the first to know him. He is the one who has revealed me. He is unbegotten and unsearchable.

I am he who has revealed him: I am he who has been called by the One Who is. I am the son of him who has come forth from the unbegotten Father. I bear within me his power, his glory, his light. I am the one who shall return to him.
