Ode 7 — the love and the descent
James H. Charlesworth / J.R. Harris (composite, selections) · Public domain / scholarly composite. Reproduced for educational and religious commentary.
1As is the course of anger over wickedness, so is the course of joy over the beloved. He who created me when yet I was not, knew what I would do when I came into being.
2And he had compassion upon me with his abundant grace, and granted that I might ask of him and might receive of his sacrifice. For he it is who is incorrupt, the perfection of the worlds, and their Father.
3He has allowed him to appear to those who are his, that they might recognize him who has made them, and not suppose that they came of themselves. For he gave a way to his knowledge, and made wide his path.
4And he was gracious to those who would not be perfected without him. He was multiplied in his mercies. The Father gave to his children grace beyond their measure.
5Hallelujah.
