The mystery of the alphabet

Marsanes also taught the mystery of the alphabet. There are letters that come from the heavens, and letters of this world. The letters of this world have shapes; the letters of the heavens have power.
Each vowel is a power. Each consonant is the name of an angel. The seven vowels are the seven heavens. The diphthongs are the joinings of heaven to heaven. The semivowels are the holy seed.
[Lines damaged.] He who pronounces these letters with knowledge, ascends. He who pronounces them in ignorance, falls. The same sound that takes one up takes another down. Knowledge is the difference.
Therefore, my children, do not speak idly. Every word is a power, and every breath of yours is the breath of a name. Watch yourselves, that you may pronounce the names of life, and not the names of death.
