The vision of the Father

The disciple was lifted up. He passed through the seven spheres. He left fate behind. He entered the Eighth.

He saw the Ogdoad — the company of the souls who are at rest. They sang a song. They blessed the Father. They blessed the Mind. They blessed the Word.

He passed through the Ogdoad and entered the Ninth. He saw the Father. The Father was light, beyond light. The Father was silent, beyond silence. The Father was the Mind of every mind.

The disciple cried out, Father! I see thee! I am thee! Thou art me!

And the disciple wept for joy. And he said, O grace, O Mind, O Father — I bless thee, I sing to thee. By thee I am perfected. By thee I am alive.

Such is the prayer of the disciple. Such is the ascent through the Ogdoad and the Ennead. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.
