As Paul was going up to Jerusalem to meet the apostles, he met a small child on the road of the mountain of Jericho. The child said to him, By what road shall you go up to Jerusalem?
Paul said to him, I am going up to Jerusalem. The child said to him, On what business?
Paul said, To meet the apostles, that I may give them the alms which were collected for the saints in Jerusalem.
The little child said, Truly, truly I say to you, no apostle was ever found except for whom there was a saying. They are like rulers who say to one another, "Go, and that one goes; come, and that one comes." When you ascend, your eye shall be opened.
Paul recognized that the small child was the holy Spirit and the Word. He said to him, By what road shall I go up to Jerusalem?
The little child said, Behold, this is the road, and you must go on it. And he saw the twelve apostles, and they said to him, Brother Paul, where are you going?
