[…] Allogenes, the Stranger, said to his disciples, Hear my words, that I may speak to you concerning the things that I have seen.

I saw five trees on the mountain, and the trees were as it were of the eternal aeon. They were trees that do not change with the seasons. They were watered by a hidden stream. The leaves of the trees did not fall, and the trees were filled with light.

And after I had seen this, I went up onto the mountain, and a great fear and trembling seized me. I prayed to the Father, who is the great invisible Spirit; and a luminous cloud came over me, surrounding me on every side.

Then there came a voice to me from the cloud, saying, Allogenes, you who have wandered, who are foreign to your own self — you have come to know what is yours. Stand up; receive your strength.

[…] And I stood up. And I saw before me Satan, who is the ruler of the world. He came to me to tempt me. He said, Allogenes, come, follow me, and I shall give to you the kingdoms of the earth, and all the glory of them.

I answered him, Get behind me, deceiver. For I belong to the Father who has sent me. He is the one who has set the foundation of every aeon, and you are not he. Go from me. I do not belong to you.

When I had said this, he departed from me. And the luminous cloud descended upon me again. And the voice came to me a second time.

[Several lines damaged.] […] And it said to me, Allogenes, you have stood. You have not fallen. You have given the testimony. Now then, hear what I shall reveal to you concerning the powers that are below and the holy generation that is above.
